DOJ sues Maryland over law-enforcement mask bans
The Justice Department sued Maryland on Thursday, the same day the state's new law banning law-enforcement officers from wearing masks (SB1) took effect. The suit also challenges mask and ID ordinances in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. Maryland is the eighth state sued over such laws.
DOJ argues the Supremacy Clause bars states from regulating federal officers' equipment; the acting attorney general said, "We will never tolerate the doxxing or harassment of federal officers."
